Skatole, This auction is for 4.0g skatole; 3-methylindole.  Larger amounts available, contact me if interested. I have been waiting a while to find a supply of this aromachemical.  I like ingredients that have range, and this one runs the spectrum.  A concentrated whiff and it will burn your nostrils leaving a mothball scent permeating which slowly fades to its characteristic scent.  After the fade, or in lower concentrations it is absolutely unmistakable.  It smells like feces.  It also lingers.  A small amount of this could make a room smell like a busy truck-stop bathroom for weeks.  In smaller concentrations it has a wonderful floral sweet smell.  To use it in such recipes, make a stock solution of 1%-10% in PEG, or DPG, ethanol, etc.  This stock solution can be added to floral fragrances.  I have used it in jasmine, orange, and surprised to find it works remarkably well with a few raspberry perfumes that I have.  A little will go a long way, 4.0g could treat gallons and will create a nice base note and greatly extend the fragrance's staying power! This is from India originally and COA says 99.8%
