As the blades cut the rubber they polish at the same time. This smooths & fades the pigment of the flat surfaces. It also leaves the outer ring a comparably rich color appearance. This attribute may be unique to our selection of EPDM machined rubber washers. The images displayed of red are not as rich of red as reality. What we have are rubber washers sold individually in common US sizes, available for popular screws and bolts with a greater selection than what you would find in a steel washer at a hardware store. Our inventory is expanding. Sizes in which we can (only) make of EPDM rubber machine washers are: center hole size 3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, and 5/16. There are differences in our two types of rubber flat washers. Our flat "machine" washers are precision machine cut. Others available of our flat washer selection are punched from quality EPDM or SBR sheet like the majority of rubber washers made. We can make our EPDM machine washers in many colors name it and we can most likely do it. We may accept special order with minimum order of 50 EPDM machine washers which will be made in all the same color and size per request. EPDM -firm rubber at shore A70 that will flex and stretch. -very resistant to splitting, cracking and weathering (durable). -greater than 300% elongation capability. -40 to 200F recommended temperature range. -can tolerate steam. -safe for continued service of 180F. When subjected to boiling water ~212F range EPDM rubber becomes softened, swells some, and can be more easily stretched to accommodate a slightly larger screw/rod size. When cooled back down it will return to near its original firm state of hardness. Not recommended for use in excess of 200F for prolonged period. Application examples and some intended purposes: For many different sized machine screws and other small screws, RC vehicles, computer hard drives mounting screws, shock collar of pets, damping for rod size .093 and other close vicinity rod sizes. -all purpose -as gasket -as spacer, stand alone or in conjunction with another washer such as steel, brass, stainless steel, nylon, others. -designed to be used with a screw or bolt anytime it may be needed -for vibration damping, noise reduction. -as corrosion preventative eg. to prevent a metal washer from oxidizing itself to the metal substrate. -preventing cracking of fragile from over tightening for glass, lexan domes, other lighting applications, acrylic, porcelain, sinks, others. Sizing for our 3/32" washers This .093 ID will stretch to fit over a .114" diameter screw for a tight fit and up-gauge itself. We don't really recommend stretching it up to 1/8" .125" since we offer 1/8" washers but have successfully done so. Use For: machine screws #2 .086" machine screws #3 .099" for machine screws #4 .112" (tight fit) Another option for machine screw #4 is our 1/8" washers with a little slack. also can work for metric screw sizes M2.2 .0866 inch diameter M2.3 .0905 inch diameter M2.5 .0984 inch diameter M2.6 .1023 inch diameter For M3 screws .1181 inch diameter we recommend our 1/8 washers and these could stretch to fit tightly if you wanted. Unsure what screw size you have? Perhaps invest in measuring calipers or a machine screws tap and wire gauge. Or else you can go to the hardware store and find the nut which threads onto your screw. Then notice the size as listed on the bin label or displayed on package. When you know the size of the nut you know the size of the machine screw.
