Welcome to M-C's Menagerie We offer this Smith Corona "Silent" Portable Manual Typewriter 5S series. Serial #251445. Made in USA, 1950. This typewriter is in very good working pre-owned condition. It's been well taken care of. Nice art deco design. It has been tested and types very well. Smooth key action. All functions appear to work. No sticking keys when tested. Relatively clean. Has a black and red ribbon installed, which is still good. No dents, dings, cracks or chips. Just a few light scuffs at the corners. Typewriter and case weighs about 18 pounds. Includes a wood construction fabric covered carrying/storage case with locking closure, key for the lock and owner's manual, as pictured. Case shows wear on the corners. Total packaged shipping weight is about 21 pounds.
