This ring is constructed using water-soluble paper and adhesive-coated water-soluble paper, making it compatible with any metal. It eliminates the need to pre-measure or guess the size of a gap opening before welding. The Solugap(TM) technology provides the 1/16" minimum gap required by Ansi 31.1, Section III, ASME, and US Navy & Military Codes. This unique ring has 3-point tabs around the edge, making it easy to apply during socket welding.
