Sodium perborate is a white, granular solid which decomposes in an aqueous solution to hydrogen peroxide and sodium borate. Active oxygen content 10%. Melting point is 63 degrees Celsius. It's used in the formulation of  bleaching and cleaning agents with stain removing capabilities (especially for old linens), treatment of mange in dogs, developing vat dyes, dental compositions, electroplating, laboratory reagent, germicide, deodorants, and mouthwashes.
