Two LCD displays, one on each side, allows at-a-glance confirmation of measurement data. Sokkia total stations offer high-speed, high-accuracy distance measurements to a standard glass prism reflector. Mechanical features include a compensator for improved accuracy in angle measurement, faster distance measurement, and a simplified keyboard with multiple-function keys that provide access to an extensive range of measurement and calculation functions. The dual compensator and collimation functions allow greater accuracy in both horizontal and vertical angle measurements. The collimation function automatically corrects errors of the vertical axis. Other state-of-the-art technologies, like a standing axis machined to an accuracy of 1/1000mm and angle encoders manufactured using advanced cutting and photographic technology, have also been adopted to further improve reliability. A complete control panel is provided on each face of a SERIES C instrument to give the operator complete command over an extensive array of measurement functions. The control panel consists of a 15-key keyboard and dual dot matrix LCDs that display up to 60 alphanumeric characters of information. Keyboard operation has been simplified to reduce the number of key presses required per operation to ensure ready access to functions. The LCDs incorporate non-reflective glass with 6-step adjustment of contrast for optimum viewing under any lighting conditions. The Sokkia SET4C has the standards of quality and durability with a dust-proof and waterproof protection. All SERIES C instruments are equipped with an RS-232C compatible data port, permitting two-way communications with an external computer. This function supports a complete exchange of data, allowing the development of custom-made applications for specific tasks.
