SONICAM PLUNGER POLISHING MACHINE - TYPE RS4P The Sonicam Plunger Polishing Machine of Type RS4P operates the following way: The RS4P polishes all IS mould press & blow plungers, narrow neck and wide mouth. Plunger manufacturers can use the RS4P to finish the plungers and glass plants can use the machine for plunger maintenance. The polishing stones make a quick horizontal and longitudinal movement while the plunger rotates slowly in a chuck. The longitudinal movement of the polishing heads with the stones is completely mechanical with cranks driven by an electrical motor and variable speed-drive. The polishing heads with the stones are applied pneumatically and they open and close automatically at the end and the beginning of the cycle. A micro-compressor is incorporated in the machine. The machine has 2 sections that function simultaneously but can polish different plungers at the same time; the cycle time is set by a timer. The longitudinal speed is continuously adjustable for the 2 heads together as well as the rotating speed of the plungers.
