Overall, the Type 1 Sound Meter from Sper Scientific is a reliable and accurate device for measuring sound levels in a variety of settings and applications. The LCD display of this sound level meter provides accurate measurements with a range of 30-130 dB range in both the A and C decibel frequency weighting scales. The resolution of this sound meter is 0.1 dB, and it has an accuracy level of ±1 dB (125 Hz ~ 4 kHz). The calibration adjustment on this sound meter allows for quick calibration of the internal electronics. Additionally, the Type 1 Sound Meter can be easily acoustically calibrated in compliance with OSHA regulations using Acoustical Calibrator 850016 or an equivalent device. The Type 1 Sound Meter from Sper Scientific, model number 840015, is designed to meet the specifications of IEC61672 and ANSI S1.4 frequency weighting and time weighting for a class 1 sound meter. This sound level meter features fast or slow time weightings, peak hold, and AC output. This sound level meter is CE Approved and comes ready to use with a windscreen, calibration tool, instructions, and two 9V batteries. With dimensions of 10 1/2 ” x 3 1/2 ” x 1 1/2 ” (260 x 87 x 36 mm) and a weight of 1 lb (460 g), the Type 1 Sound Meter is both compact and lightweight.
