I’m selling a used South Bend 9 inch milling attachment for the lathe. Have a lathe and no milling machine this is for you. You can mount this on your 9” lathe and use it to fly cut and light milling operation. This attachment will really complete your machine shop. You have a lathe and you can make lots of things. Add the milling attachment and suddenly your machining capability grows. It will never replace a standalone mill but its better than nothing. If you’re limited in space this will expand your capabilities to make chips. If you want to complete you accessories for your south bend this is for you. As you probably already know these are as rare as hen’s teeth. It has a 1 3/8 circle mounting plug with dovetail to be mounted on your cross slide. I have a Logan 10 in that it fit the cross slide perfectly. The only problem is that the 10 inch lathe swing was to big and it limited the Z travel. I needed to make a mounting block to raise it up so I could utilize the full range of movement. I never got that far, a milling machine was dropped in my lap and I couldn't refuse. I painted it rustolean Hammer green to match my lathe. A little paint remover and you can turn back to “real machine color” gray. The vertical slides move smoothly, as does the tilting part. It is very simple to disassemble to clean or repaint. I’m putting 40 dollars on shipping but it could be lower depending where you live. I sold a comparable weight wise vise and it cost 47 dollars from PA to Oregon.
