This adapter fitting connects pipes or fittings with different end types. It has a barbed male spigot connection on one end for fitting into flexible tubing and a female socket connection on the other end for sliding over the end of a male pipe. The spigot end has the same diameter as the pipe it connects to, minimizing turbulence and creating a tight seal, and the socket end connects to a pipe with a smooth bore for enhanced flow. This schedule 40 (standard wall) fitting is made of PVC (polyvinyl chloride) for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal.
