Whole house surge protector.  Requires two open slots in your house electrical panel.  This is a device that snaps into two open slots on your electrical panel.  It's rated to arrest a surge current up to 22,500 amps.  Basically people who are interested in protecting their whole house from incoming power spikes due to a variety of reasons, are the people who buy this product.  It protects everything in your house, at the electrical panel.  This is different than the individual units you may plug into a specific outlet in a room to protect only those devices off that outlet.  This is house-level protection.  (It is still a good idea to put extra protection on devices that are expensive and important to you, because if another device in your house has an electrical surge it could damage other items on that circuit that your home surge protector would not protect you from.)  These types of home surge breaker protect your home from incoming surges on your utility power line.
