This is a Stalker LZ1 LIDAR Police Radar Gun system. This is an infrared laser unit. This particular unit was recently taken out of service due to department upgrades. This unit was manufactured in April 2001. The condition of the unit is good with scuffs, scratches and marks from usage and storage, all pictures are the exact unit you will receive. I repainted the main body of the LIDAR, when I received it a lot of the original paint had chipped off. It actually looks pretty good now, but otherwise it's very easy to repaint if needed. The optics on the front of the unit are in great shape with no visual defects to report. There is a small dimple/LCD bleed between the 3rd and 4th digit on the range side. This does not affect the unit in any way, although the dimple is visible and should not be mistaken for a decimal point. The backlighting works, although it's dimmer then the previous LIDARs I've sold. The unit powers on perfectly, passes the self test and the speaker works properly. All displays are easy to read. All buttons and controls are in great working order. It also features a heads-up display that you can look through; through the display you can see the reticle along with information (range/speed) on the object your targeted on. The software version shows up as "A 2.6 SUP" when powered on holding the TEST button. I tested the unit out against several moving vehicles and was able to get speed & range readings very quickly, the unit locks on easily and provides almost instantaneous readings! If the object is coming towards you the speed is positive, away from you it's negative. Laser units do not work well through windows; it's recommended that you have a clear unobstructed view of your target for best results. The unit can be cordless (battery powered) by purchasing battery handles and a charger seperately. I have batteries and chargers available in my other auctions.
