Star Sound Phonic Ear Theater IR Headphone System PE400 This system consists of an infrared transmitter and eight headphone receivers, along with accessory cables and equipment. The transmitter has a large area infrared emitter (PE 400 E) with two coaxial input/output connectors and a DC power connector (power adapter is included). The transmitter itself has an on/off switch, a dB indicator bar ranging from -18 to +6, a mic level knob and a line level knob. On the back is a DC power connector (power adapter is included), a coaxial output connector, a female three-pin mic input connector and a female three-pin line input connector. A short coaxial cable is included for connecting the two. Also included are eight Sonic Ear PE 400R receivers with volume control knobs and a charging indicator. Each receiver takes two AA batteries. Five pairs of Phonic Ear AT541 headphones are included, and three small earphones. There are four pairs of new foam covers for the headphones in addition to the covers already on them, one of which has suffered very minor tearing. Also included are four sets of grey cables (for hearing aid reception), one component of each set labelled "Phonic Ear AT 163 B" and the other set labelled "AT 543". Also included is a cable with a DC power connector at one end and a round female two-pin connector at the other. According to the included manual the emitter has a typical pattern 224' long by 74' wide. The receivers/headsets usually go for at least $100 each if you can find them available. How the unit was tested: The transmitter was plugged in and turned on and its indicator bar lit up. The transmitter and all receivers/headsets were tested and worked fine. this is a great working system.
