Starrett #199 Master Precision Level Very good condition with normal signs of use. Both level vials are in excellent condition with no cracks or issues. Starrett manufactures these levels using a soft steel and the base of these #199 levels will easily incur signs of normal use. Please review the annotations provided in the photos. With the 20+ #199 levels I have sold in the past, I have struggled to properly document the base of a #199 level, with obvious signs of use to the naked eye, as ready for use and accurate to my, or a buyers', satisfaction. So... This #199 was submitted to Precision Calibration Systems (Morristown, TN) with the request that they document any variation in base flatness. This level was inspected using a surface plate and electronic height gage to document the current condition of the base surface. The inspection report is provided in the photos. There is no variance in base flatness. It is accurate and ready for immediate use. The wood case has been refinished in black with reproduction graphics inside and out.
