This listing is for a VINTAGE IN ORIGINAL WOODEN CASE, THE STARRETT MICROMETER CALIPER NO. 224 SET A. Numbers on the Micrometer are 2-6", RANGE 2" TO 6". The Brown Wooden Case is Fairly Trashed, meaning it shows quite a bit of wear--dings, scratches, writing and the bottom has a partial split. STARRETT ATHOL MASS. U.S.A. label on the front of the box, very dirty; 4" metal piece fastened above the label: USA AF-17B-3678; the Front Hook Latch & Back Hinges are Good, the case stays Closed & will protect the contents. Large Black marker writing on the front of the box; large Red marker writing on the bottom of the box, covers nearly the entire box; Unknown if it is removable. There is a crack in the back of the wood box with a 3" split across the underside. The inside of the case is in fairly Good condition with the original STARRETT paper glued to the inside. The paper is grungy yet readable. The aroma is similar to both "axel grease" & "wood"; the tools have likely been used and/or at least "lubed", & are in Good, Clean Condition. THE SET IS INCOMPLETE WITH ONLY 6 TOTAL PIECES IN THE SET. It looks to be Missing 4 pieces. The Micrometer is Heavy with a STARRETT stamp on one side, 2 in. No. 224 - 6in. on the other side. The top is 10" long, 7" long below the curve, 1 3/4" wide at the lower center & 1/2" thick. There are various numbers along the top of the tool. There are various sized parts & 2 "wrench-like tools" that fit in the slots; FOUR SLOTS ARE EMPTY. Some of the info. on the inside paper reads: THE STARRETT MICROMETER CALIPER NO. 224 SET A RANGE 2" TO 6" TABLE OF DECIMAL EQUIVALENTS. Full product information. THE L.S.
