This listing is for a VINTAGE IN ORIGINAL WOODEN CASE, STARRETT MICROMETER DEPTH GAGE, 440-B. We have several of these VINTAGE STARRETT KITS listed, and this one has No identifying paperwork with the kit, so we've had to go by being told what it is and the numbers on the tool. This kit looks to be missing one rod. Tools are in the Original wooden box, which shows wear, mainly scratches, dirt & wear expected from age and use. The box is Not trashed--the hinges are Tight & front metal hook closure is Good. 3" STARRETT ATHOL, MASS., U.S.A. label on the top of the box. The inside of the box is good with a fair amount of dirt & oil stains to the wood & the slots holding the tool parts. The inside smells of "lube oil". There are 7 slots with 6 filled, one 9" Rod Appears To Be Missing. 5", 6", 7" & 8" Rods are in the slots as well as the 2 1/2" Wrench & Depth Gage. Depth Gage is Heavy & looks to be in overall GOOD CONDITION. THE L.S. STARRETT CO. ATHOL, MASS. U.S.A. in small print on the Gage. Various numbers are on the Gage--large printed numbers from 0-20, in 5's, with numbers 1-25 in small print around & between the larger printed numbers. No. 440-B imprinted above the numbers, as is MADE IN U.S.A. Gage is 4 1/2" x 4"; approx. 1/2" wide at the bottom, 2" around at the base with the numbers. Please look at the many photos taken for you to have a good look at the item. 3" x 1" STARRETT ATHOL, MASS., U.S.A. label affixed to the inside top of the box. Box measures 11" x 6" x 1".
