For sale is a No. 576 (0-1/2") Rounded Anvil Micrometer made by L S Starrett Co, Athol, Mass. U.S.A.  The micrometer is in excellent condition and produces repeatable, accurate readings. It is in full working order and turns silky smooth. The only blemishes I can find are very light scuffs, scratches on the lower lobe and some slight discoloration on the plunger (see pictures). Please note that the second knurled knob attachment *is* present on this piece (it's often missing) which enables you to maintain a consistent torque when making measurements. I find this to be invaluable and I would always recommend getting a tool where this is still present. The tool weighs around 2.2oz and is 3 3/8" long. A beautiful example of US craftsmanship at its best. Please examine the pictures carefully to fully appreciate the item on offer. They can tell you much more than any verbal description.
