Here is a Starrett No. 657AA magnetic base with a China 1" dial indicator that are in good used condition. These tools have worked very well together. They have been used so you will find some minor cosmetic imperfections but nothing that will hinder their usefulness. The 657AA magnetic base works perfectly. It "sticks" solidly to any flat steel surface. Everything slides around easily and locks down tight wherever you want it to. The magnet turns "on" and "off" easily with just a push of the button. There was some initials on the side of the magnet. (See the fifth photo) I removed them and painted it black. I think it looks alot better. The ??? China 1" dial indicator moves easily without any hesitations and always returns to "0". Smooth! It is missing the little clip that locks down the besel. You really do not need it as it is not move by itself. The snugs that holds everything together I dont believe are Starrett, I don't know the manufacturer. This tool set has a few flaws, please don't let them detract from what is otherwise a very nice set of tools. Everything will work perfectly for you! I guarantee it!This set up has a vertical reach of 21 1/2" and a horizontal reach of approximately 12". This American made magnetic base and Chinese made indicator are both ready to go back to work immediately and would make a great addition to any precision tool box.
