Here is a beautiful Starrett dial indicator with magnetic base set in a beautiful wooden case. Included in this set are; a Starrett No. 811 swivel head dial indicator, a Starrett No. 657A magnetic base, a 5 1/2" multiple jointed extension arm, and a snug that holds it all together. This set in a next to new, *MINT* condition. I don't think this set was ever used because the Starrett snug that came originally with it was the wrong size. It was replaced with this black snug that does a very good job holding this indicator. The Starrett mag base is almost perfect. You really have to look hard to find any imperfections. It is smaller than other Starrett magnetic bases as it can fit into some smaller spaces that the larger ones cannot. The magnet turns on and off easily and sticks solidly to any smooth steel surface. The fine adjustment knob makes setting up this indicator even easier. The swivel head indicator is also in great condition. The head swivels perfectly and the dial moves easily with no hesitations and always returns to "0". Smooth. The only drawback to this set is that the original owner faintly scratched SDC 6160 onto the side of the indicator (as shown in the last photo). Please don't let that detract from an otherwise near perfect set. The beautiful wooded box is also in very good shape. It has a few very minor scratches and dings from protecting these tools, but it will continue to protect this set for years to come. Also included is a 5 1/2" extension. It can bend many different ways and I thought it should go with this set. Turning the Allen's with the included 9/64" wrench, it will help reaching past many different obstacles. please look at all the photographs as they can describe the condition of this set much better than I can.
