Learn More The Steinel 76000 TM 6000 cordless butane powered glue gun provides continuous glue streams for up to 100 minutes per fuel cell at temperatures ranging from 320 to 464 degrees F. The glue gun has refillable Liquid Energy Cell (LEC) butane fuel cells that are removable for quick refueling and safe air travel, and a mechanical feed for glue sticks to maintain precise control of the glue stream. The gun warms up in three minutes, and instantly cuts off the glue stream to reduce dripping. It is suitable for many industrial, home repair, and craft applications such as bonding parts and wires in electronic devices, reupholstering chair seats, and assembling foam model aircraft and toys. The adhesive is fed mechanically into the gun as a solid stick, melted electrically or by using butane gas, and dispensed as a liquid onto the surface that is to be bonded. Glue guns are used extensively in crafts and home repair to bond materials such as lace, paper, wood, plastic, and metal, and in industrial settings to assemble parts and close paperboard cartons. Hot-melt adhesives have several advantages over solvent-based adhesives: they produce little or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can be a long-term health hazard; solidify quickly without curing or drying; have a long shelf life; and do not lose thickness when they solidify. Steinel manufactures heat guns, glue guns, gas torches, and sensors. The company, founded in Germany in 1959, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 standards and is Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant. The glue gun uses LEC fuel cells and standard 0.5"diameter glue sticks (sold separately).
