The fixed-angle rotor will accommodate up to six specimen tubes ranging in size from 2 to 10mL. With a speed of 7200±350 rpm (4227 RCF), it has been designed with two precisely timed spin cycles: • The PRP button provides platelet rich plasma in 30 seconds. • The 3 MIN button provides serum or plasma separation (Platelet Poor Plasma) in 3 minutes. The centrifuge is not intended for use with materials other than blood. To help ensure safety, the centrifuge is equipped with an automatic lid lock, which prevents it from being opened while the rotor is in motion. A gasket seal is mounted in the lid to minimize possible aerosol exposure. Disposable tube holders provide another safety enhancement. In the event of tube breakage during centrifugation, the operator can discard both the disposable tube holder and the tube safely without making contact with the blood specimen and without cleaning the centrifuge bowl or rotor. To monitor proper operation, the centrifuge has LED indicator lights and an audible alarm to signal both normal and abnormal operating conditions.
