  Massive, stable construction for fabrication of microtools. Readily accepts most makes/models of stereomicroscopes. Microforges enable the fabrication of hooks, curves, blades, bulbs, flame polished tips (as used in the patch clamp technique) and other microtools that cannot be produced by pulling alone. Stable, Precise Stoelting microforges feature massive, stable construction for fabrication of microtools in even the submicron range. The microforge is operated by moving the heating element in the optical plane. Coarse microdrives in three dimensions, and a fine drive in the lateral direction are provided. The movements are visually guided through the microscope, and the heater is controlled with a footswitch. The illuminator may be moved in the vertical and horizontal directions to allow centering on the microscope. Choice of Microscopes Select from the following continuous-zoom stereomicroscopes with bonder-arm focusing mounts, or use your own. Nikon SMZ-2B Stereo zoom with 20x widefield eyepieces, fitted with a 25mm reticle, and a 2x front end lens to give a zoom range of 16-200x. With bonder-arm focusing mount.   The standard tool holder, included, is a 1/4" Jacobs Chuck. Available options include an adaptor clamp (51558) for holding Leitz® microinstrument sleeves (51534, set of 3) and the rotating chuck.
