One used very strong round ferrite donut magnet. It measures 2 1/4" in diameter, 1/4" thick with a , 1 1/4" hole in the center. Weighs about 5.5 ounces. I am not sure what the gauss measurement is for these types of magnets, but I can tell you it is quite strong and can pinch your finger if you are not careful when it latches onto something. Needless to say this is NOT A TOY, but it does have a multitude of uses: Hang tools Attach to oil filter or transmission pan to catch small ferrous metal particles Science projects Hobbies and many more Used and in good condition with only minor nicks/scratches, but no large chips/cracks.
