The Suncourt Inductor In-Line Duct Fan is the solution to air delivery problems that won't break the bank. This 2-speed fan can be wired for high or low, with a duct diameter of 10". It has a max boosted CFM of 650/900 and free air CFM of 300/460. The unit weighs 4.5 lbs, with a housing length of 8". The blade type is aluminum, and the dBA is 56/59. To ensure your Inductor lasts, never expose it to airflow temperatures exceeding 140F (60C), and make sure all electrical wiring conforms to applicable codes and standards. Never use an Inductor for dryer venting. Also, never connect the high and low speed wires of a 2-speed Inductor together. If you have a room that's always too cold, it may be located far from the furnace, and friction in the long duct reduces airflow to the register in that room. Additionally, the room may be over an unheated garage, or the duct is undersized to deliver enough heated air. If the room has an air return register, make sure the door is kept open for proper circulation. Expect up to 80% airflow boost from an Inductor, with a 30-50% increase in airflow from well-performing registers. Boosted airflow can make a difference in achieving the desired temperature change, A thermally protected motor can shut off automatically if it exceeds a safe limit. The smaller Inductors are equipped with polycarbonate fan blades, while others have aluminum fan blades. It's recommended not to install more than 2 Inductors per 8 registers in your air distribution system. Free air is the air volume output from a fan, expressed in cubic feet per minute (CFM) when the fan isn't connected to ductwork, pipes, louvers, or items that would interfere with the free flow of air from the fan. Boosted air is the maximum airflow that can pass through an Ind For rooms that are too hot, long duct runs cause a reduction in airflow, and the cooled air may heat up before it reaches the room. The problem run may be to a room on the south side of the house with a large window capturing a lot of summer heat. For upstairs cooling problems, try to select the largest fan possible, and use duct diameter expanders & reducers to adapt to the ducts already in place.
