P. Banditt diamond jaw needle holder and Pilling thoracic tissue forcep measure six inches in length. These are authentic surgical instruments; both of them were used in the operating room. Their quality is supreme : needle holder has a firm lock & locks and unlocks with no resistance. As evidenced by the photos the tissue forcep has "teeth" for slip resistant grip under oily conditions, and the needle holder has a diamond jaw, increasing the friction between the needle and the needle holder when the needle holder is locked.  Suturing is a valuable skill to learn, whether you are a healthcare student or not. The geometry of suture placement and surgical knot tying aligns the tension to hold materials together in an idea way by bringing the tension to the center.
