Untitled Document Swagelok® 1/4" Tube OD x 1/2"-20 O Ring Boss Straight Thread Connector 316 Stainless Steel Instrumentation Grade Manufacture Part No. SS-400-1-5STBT This is a bored thru fitting, meaning there is no tube stop. Why buy nitril from the other guys? Viton is chemically resistant to about everything known to man but not recommended for MEK (ketones), Acetone, Ammonia (amines), Lye or Sodium Hydroxide (20%+), Diethyl Ether, or Acetic Acid. You may store your sperm whale oil with it and piss on it but do not use it to spread mustard (contains Acetic Acid). Important Note: This is a NPT(National Pipe Thread Taper) fitting and not the dryseal variant NPTF (Dryseal American National Standard Taper Pipe Thread). Both types go by inside diameter rather than outside diameter and will be approximately 1/4" larger than the size stated. For example, a 1/4" NPT fitting is over 1/2" in outside diameter. Both threads are tapered and visually appear to be the same however, there are subtle differences. An NPT fitting requires thread tape/sealant and cannot be used for NPTF applications, as it will likely produce a leak. Common NPTF applications include plumbing in your home. Need more info?
