The Sylvania DS-3050 Light Meter is a hand held luminance meter that has been designed and manufactured to deliver a correct reading (+/- 3-Percentage) of light levels over a wide measurement range of 0.000-4000fc, 0.00-40,000Ix. This meter can be used as a handy way to check existing light levels and see energy savings opportunities as well as for authorizing new lighting installations and making sure the environment is lit properly. The DS-3050 comes fully equipped with features such as automatic ranging and hold functions that make measuring light in most applications accurate and simple. Other features included on this meter include automatic zero, automatic off after 30 minutes, long battery life, low battery indication and easy installation and replacement. A protective leather case is supplied with the Light Meter to ensure that your meter is protected when not in use. The meter itself is 7-Inch by 2-Inch by 1-inch and weighs .40 pounds and has a response time of 0.5 seconds. The 9 volt battery has a life of about 150 hours and when it’s getting low the battery symbol on the display will flash letting you know that the battery life is getting low. When operating this meter make sure you are not in a climate lower than 32-Degree Fahrenheit or higher than 104-Degree Fahrenheit or the meter may not work properly. If dirt or dust sticks to the surface of detecting light, it can decrease accuracy of the measuring value, so be sure to keep it clean.
