The Symbol PPT-4100 Series portable pen-based terminal is designed specifically for mobile, information-intensive applications. It enables users to gain instant access to point-of-sale, back office, inventory, customer profiles, pricing, product information, anywhere, any time. Accurate order entry, product data and customer tracking are accomplished by using the integrated bar code scanner to collect data; use the pen screen to record customer signatures, update orders and service requests in the field. Users can take the unit with them on vendor quality audits and get immediate results back to the plant via a PCMCIA Modem Card. Whether operating on-line over the Spectrum One® RF or Spectrum24 RF network or in batch mode, manufacturing personnel are empowered and productive. Operating in an industry-standard, PC-compatible DOS environment, the PPT-4100 Series combines pen input with a Graphical User Interface (GUI), integrated bar code laser scanning, and wireless LAN technology. The integrated scanner utilizes Symbol's patented Mylar® scan element, a unique technology that creates motion without wear. Two PCMCIA card slots allow the PPT 4100 to be easily configured (and reconfigured) to keep pace with changing needs. Industry-standard/certified PCMCIA cards provide user-selectable functions which include modems, SRAM and your choice of wireless communications including, Spectrum One® and Spectrum24®.
