Symmetricom ND-CLK 820-1446-AC NTP Self-Setting 12" Analog Wall Clock New Old Stock In Factory Carton • Symmetricom Badged Version of Masterclock CLKNTD12 Description Here's a rare chance to pick up an unused self-setting analog wall clock. This is the Symmetricom-badged ND-CLK version of the Masterclock unit (820-1446-AC). This AC Powered clock (90-265VAC) hooks up to your wired internet connection and stays accurate to a fraction of a second by using public NTP servers kept in sync by the US government's network of atomic clocks. It can also reference an internal NTP time source if you prefer not to use public facilities. Full detail may be obtained from the User Manual For configuration, a simple WinDiscovery control application 'finds' the clock(s) on your network and allows you to set such parameters as your local timezone and daylight savings preferences on a Windows PC - see the screenshots below for more information on this process. The timezone offset can be tweaked by a number of seconds if you want to apply compensation for profanity/codec/transmission delays etc. So once configured, the clock will keep itself accurate and adjust for daylight savings time changes with no further intervention. In the event of an internet outage an internal quartz oscillator will keep the clock running accurately until service is restored. This is much cheaper and simpler than having to invest in a GPS master clock receiver and a timecode distribution network to drive your clocks from a central resource. Usually Sells for $700+ The clock is the 12 Inch dial model with a steel case covered in black powdered finish. The second hand sweeps silently round the dial so there's no ticking to be picked up by your studio mics. As you can see, there's a good amount of free space remaining inside the case so I expect that you could easily fit in a compact WiFi client device if you want to take advantage of a nearby Access Point and not run a dedicated wired network connection. This clock is New Old Stock. It is still in the factory carton and has never been deployed. The config password is the factory default of "public".
