The Tailwind arm rehab device is an arm rehabilitation exercise device that has been shown in scientific studies to improve arm function and range of motion in people with partial paralysis caused by stroke or brain injury.  It requires no installation or technical experience.  It comes out of the box ready to use.   After the device is set up on a table at home or in the clinic, the user sits in front of it, turns on the metronome (included) to create an auditory cue, grasps the handles and attempts to move them along a frictionless track to reach an end point.  Affected hand can be attached with a simple strap. (included)  You can make it more difficult by changing the incline of the movement. The Tailwind's primary medical innovation is controlling the independent movement of the arms by reactivating central neuromuscular pathways.  It is simple, effective, and easy to use.  Changes are noticeable even in patients who suffered a stroke as many as 20 years earlier.  It provides bilateral arm movement and repetition needed to realize arm recovery and improvement.  There are no computers to program or complex equipment to install.  It is easy and convenient to use in the comfort of your home. Tailwind is a patented stroke rehabilitation device that clinical studies have shown can permanently improve arm movement in patients who have lost upper extremity function due to stroke or other brain injury. Also included is the instruction manual and training DVD. This was used only about 25 times.
