All sockets, extensions, and ratchet are forged and heat treated chrome vanadium steel with a corrosion-resistant chrome plated finish for extended tool life. 6-point sockets grip flat sides of fastener heads, not corners, preventing round-off (view larger). 6-Point Sockets To prevent stripping or round-off under high stress, the 6-point sockets feature a high-torque design that contacts and grips the stronger flat sides of nut or bolt head, not the weaker corners.
