HERE WE HAVE A "METRO-TEL"  METER CALLED A "KS" METER BY THOUSANDS OF TELEPHONE REPAIR PEOPLE.  YOU CAN'T BE AN OLD TYME REPAIRMAN WITHOUT ONE OF THESE.  I CLEANED THIS ONE UP AND INSTALLED SOME GOOD CORDS AND PUT IN MY LAST 45 VOLT BATTERY.  IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW THESE METERS WILL ALSO MEASURE VOLTS DC WITH THE METER OFF.  IF THERE IS AC PRESENT ON THE LINE THE NEEDLE WILL OSCILATE UP AND DOWN BUT YOU CAN'T MEASURE THE EXACT AC VOLTAGE===YOU WILL JUST KNOW IT'S THERE.  THESE WERE ALSO CALLED "KICK" METERS CAUSE THEY CHARGE AND DISCHARGE CAPACITANCE ON THE LINE AND THE NEEDLE KICKS UP TO READ ABOUT 500+/- FT. PER "POINT" OR GRADUATION ON THE SCALE. THE CASE ON THIS ONE IS IN GOOD SHAPE BUT THE ZIPPER HAS JUMPED TRACK BUT IT STILL CLOSES AND HAS A RUBBER CORD TO KEEP IT CLOSED.  THESE METERS ARE LIKE AN OLD FRIEND TO A BUNCH OF US.  THANKS FOR LOOKING. P.S. THE BATTERY IS WORTH MORE THAN THE STARTING BID.
