This listing is for a tested and guaranteed functional GPIB-RS485 converter, great for software control of GPIB devices such as interfacing a cRIO system via RS485 port to one or more GPIB devices. The converter is in very good condition, has part #191971C-02L, same unit shown. The converter operates under software control such as a LabVIEW via VISA functions (checkout NI resources for examples, including VIs). Be sure of compatibility of this device with your requirements prior to purchase. Included is a new NI 4-meter RS485 null modem cable, new NI power supply with threaded fastener to securely attach to converter box, and a compatible US IEC power cord, all same as shown in photos. From NI- The National Instruments GPIB-RS485/422 is a high-performance serial-to-GPIB interface. It transforms a computer with an RS485 or RS422 serial port into a talker, listener, or controller on the GPIB bus. The NI GPIB-RS485/422 can also interface RS485 or RS422 instruments and peripherals to the GPIB bus. The GPIB-RS485/422 has all the software and logic required to implement the physical and electrical specifications of the IEEE 488, RS485, and RS422 standards. It can interpret and execute high-level commands sent to it over the serial port, performing Serial-to-GPIB protocol conversions, as well as interpret commands sent over the GPIB, performing GPIB-to-Serial protocol conversions. The GPIB-RS485/422 uses the NI TNT5004 controller chip, which implements all IEEE 488 talker/listener/controller functionality.
