Perfect Condition/Same As New-Vintage--This is something very cool and a great gift for so many different people. The older child interested in science, it can be used as a postage scale, the collector of older toys and scientific things or just someone who wants a cool conversation piece. The coolness factor alone will get you an A+. From what I found, these were sold in the 70s and into the 80s. This is the complete and original box and packaging as this is how they were sold. The original price tag is still on the front, but the price faded over the years. There is no UPC code. This has accuracy to less than a gram and you can slide in one of three different index strips; ounces, grams and postage BUT the postage scale has prices from decades ago! Measures 1/32 ounce to 10 ounces or 1 to 280 grams, this scale is based on scientific principles and can not have errors like electronic ones. This is how things were sold like food, and all other necessities for 100s of years before the computerized gadgets took over. Much better than spring scales as springs weaken and stretch over time. This is plastic, but has copper-beryllium bearings to last decades more. Folds up flat in the carrying case and has a leveling screw to set zero. Something cool to have or display and for the guy (or girl) who just likes cool stuff and what others call "junk", this will be awesome to them.
