Portable welders depend on the Scout® for quality weld output and consistent auxiliary power. The Scout®, TA-4/170-H, is an engine-driven welding generator with excellent performance for STICK and TIG welding. The heavy-duty design provides 60% Duty Cycle at 170 Amps with 30-170 Amps weld output and delivers the highest available auxiliary power while welding. The heavy-duty rugged roll case design is standard along with HF protection, muffler, low oil pressure shutdown, hour meter, and scratch start TIG. The unique Power-Plus® patented alternator delivers a smooth weld output. Its brushless design increases efficiency – reducing maintenance and extending the life of the machine. Separate windings are used for welding and auxiliary power, offering the highest quality auxiliary power. The generator is powered by a rugged 1-cylinder, gas fuel, air-cooled Honda engine. Honda industrial engines provide high fuel efficiency and performance and are backed by Honda's strong parts and service support. The Scout® is ideal for applications in general construction, structural fabrication, pipe welding, rental operations, professional welding, maintenance vehicles, mobile repair vehicles, in-plant maintenance, mining, railroad maintenance and stand-by power.
