Thermally Reduced Graphene Oxide with 4.2 wt% carbon black spacers, Powder - 1g Offered for sale are 250 - 1 gram lots of thermally reduced graphene oxide powder with 4.2 wt% Cabot VXC72R conductive carbon black spacers [tr-GO w/cb]. This material is part of a larger lot synthesized for use as a substrate for development of catalytic fuel cell membranes, and is surplus to our current needs. This tr-GO w/cb was produced by electrochemical degradation of graphite rod (Pyrotech GSXP, FIN) followed by addition of carbon black powder, acid rinse, washing, filtering, drying and calcining at 1000 F under nitrogen. Uses: tr-GO w/cb forms an effective substrate for producing graphene thin films, electronic components, energy storage devices, sensors, electrodes, catalysts and supercapacitor applications. The powdered form sold here enables an efficient choice of solid or liquid applications. Purchasing tr-GO w/cb in powder form allows the user to select solvent types such as water, IPA and DMF. Tr-GO w/cb dispersions are useful in the preparation of catalytic and electrically conductive inks, structural and custom applications. The addition of electrically conductive carbon black particles inhibits stacking of tr-GO w/cb 2D particles which can lead to poor diffusion and mass transport properties of the bulk material in diffusion limited applications. Sonication of tr-GO w/cb suspensions is also recommended to optimize dispersion, minimize stacking and produce the best properties of the material.
