Thermoplan CTS2 Black & White Thermal Security Switch 71.33.40 Description: This listing is for (2) NEW Thermoplan CTS2 B&W Thermal Security Switch 71.33.40 Every CTS is equipped with two of these safety switches on the top of the coffee boiler in the Hydraulic Module. These switches prevent the boiler in the Hydraulic Module from overheating by cutting power to the heating coil when they detect that the boiler has gone above the safe limit. After being tripped, these switches can be reset like a circuit breaker by pushing down on the button located at the top. A trip may indicate that your boiler thermostat is malfunctioning or that your thermal switch is malfunctioning. It is not uncommon for old thermal switches to trip prematurely. This indicates that your thermal switches need to be replaced. If your CTS2 screen shows "Heating" but the boiler remains cold, then it is likely that the thermal switches are faulty. Having new thermal switches installed also ensures safe operation of your machine. To replace, simply unplug the electrical leads and unscrew the old switches by turning them anti-clockwise. The new thermal switches install by turning clockwise.
