A excellent choice for building a Gamma Spectrometry quality detector and Multichannel Analyzer (MCA). NEW (NOS) EMI 9956KB two inch (51mm) PMT Photomultiplier Tube with standard 14 PIN Connector. When combined with a standard 14 pin Voltage Divider (also sold by me in another listing) this PMT works well with many battery operated survey meters and USB or battery powered High Voltage Bias Power Supplies. These PMTs work very well with Ludlum meters, Gamma Spectacular HV Bias Drivers, and Theremino PMT adapter. Ships with the original manufactures Test Sheet and Data Sheet. This listing is for a high performance high quality PMT, considered to be one of the best available for hobby gamma spectrometry, guaranteed capable of excellent resolution. Each tube leaves my lab tested and guaranteed to satisfy. These PMTs are great for Scintillation Counting and an excellent choice for Gamma Spectrometry. They are driven easily by voltages starting around 600 volts, and typical operating voltage is 750 to 900 volts. If you want one of the best 2 inch Photomultipliers available, look no further. Definitely NOT the typical junk PMT you see listed elsewhere. The 9956B is a 51mm (2”) diameter end window photomultiplier, with enhanced green sensitive bialkali photocathode, and 10 high gain, high stability, SbCs dynodes of the long established venetian blind design providing a low afterpulse rate. The typical spectral response is 290 to 680 nm, with a broad peak from 350nm to 450nm (highest peak near 380nm).
