This is an improved tie-bar for the Parker (AKA) Lakeland 420 & 424 tubing bender.  It is slightly wider and has chamfered hole edges which make it easier to use and less likely to bind when taking it on and off. The tie-bar is used between the center post and dowel pin when using the larger dies or bending heavier material.  It is important this is utilized to prevent distortion to the material and damage to the machine. Parker recommends ""When it becomes difficult to hold distortion of the tube within 5%25 because of deflection of the bender, place the tie bar over the center post and the dowel pin. Always use the tie bar with heavy wall tubing sizes 7/8" or above.""
