Tip Jar, Phil the Tip Jar. Eye-catching tip jars get more tips! The tip jar has become ubiquitous in coffee shops and take out restaurants. It's a way for those who make a low salary to boost their income, but you do have to encourage people to put money into the jar. By creating an eye-catching tip jar instead of just using an old jug, you'll be able to earn more tips. Place the jar in a prominent place to encourage tipping. The traditional tip jar is a large glass or plastic jug. Staff will usually put a sign ont he jug to let customers know that this is the tip jar, but that isn't always enough to make people leave a tip. Instead, try to get creative with the tip jar. I searched for tip jars and had little luck finding any that were interesting. The ones I found looked like ordinary glass jars that you see at bars and cocktail lounges. It is hard to find cool tip jars that draw attention. So I made an interesting one for the band and it really helped it get noticed and more people put money in the jar! It inspired me to make other interesting tip jars. Ordinary tip jars that just say 'Tips' make it appear like you are 'begging' for extra money. However, cute, clever tip jars make people laugh and smile and they are more apt to put something in there. Also, I figure that since having an interesting tip jar helped me, I can make jars to help other people in this struggling economy to make a few extra bucks. I made this one for that reason. It will definitely be an interesting conversation piece. How can they not put a tip in the jar? Haha. These tip jars will pay for themselves (please see my other items). All tip jars are sold 'as is'. This tip-jar is made from a recycled tin approximately a gallon size. It is painted with black paint and decorated with decorative stickers on the outside. It has a removable lid with opening (that also prevents people from reaching back in and taking out money). It's perfect for any counter top :) I know it may be hard to tell from the photos, but 'Phil' is actually a neon yellow color.
