A grinding dresser or wheel dresser is a tool used to clean and shape the surface of a grinding wheel.  In addition to flattening the wheel to return it to its original shape, they can be used to make a different profile on the wheel surface or to balance the wheel.  These dressers are not thin electroplate.  The diamonds are throughout the head and may be used until the head is completely eroded, which will happen much more slowly than most grinding wheels.   PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS Diamonds are contained in a cobalt/bronze matrix Country of Origin:    UNITED STATES OF AMERICA Shipping Restrictions:   United States only Description    Tool Room metal T-Handle Diamond Dressers Weight: 1.0 Overall Length: 8.25" Carat Weight: 3.5+ Head Dimensions    1/7/8" x 1/4" x 7/16" Handle: Metal rectangular cross section with a hole on end for hanging it up when not in use.
