This is a Robo Laser RB01001 laser level . It comes with it's original foam lined polyethylene carrying case . The laser unit itself runs on four double A batteries and the remote control runs on one square 9 volt battery. The unit is very simple to operate and is self leveling . It can be set up on a transit tripod or a simple  camera tripod as it is set up on it's base and threaded  for both. Once the tripod is  reasonably leveled ; the unit will do the final leveling of itself once it is turned on from the tripod . Usually rotating the level a time or two helps to set up the self leveling process. The unit comes with no tripod. The unit is really accurate for foundation setup or other construction leveling that needs leveling over distance . What I like about  this unit over the constantly spinning levels; is that one doesn't need a sensor in most cases; nor does one have to get out of the way of the beam for measurement along walls because the beam can be adjusted for position via the remote control  and measurements can be made from the spot that the  beam makes at the desired elevation . This really makes for convenience in working. The red laser beam is also easy to see in a variety  of lighting conditions . As always -- bright sunlight tends to fade the beam out, but shading the target area usually brings the beam back fairly easily . This tool was fairly expensive when I bought it and has been  stored well and meticulous care has been taken to preserve it's working condition.  It should be a good deal for anyone needing a precision leveling device .
