This is a Toshiba UT1E1E020C6 2000 VA\1400 W tower type uninterruptable power supply ( UPS ), in excellent physical condition, and perfect working order. It has brand new, brand name batteries ( Powersonic ), with a very recent receipt to prove that. The UPS is of the true on-line, double conversion, and input PF corrected type. This means that it takes AC line power, filters it for noise, surges, and voltage fluctuations, converts it to DC, and then inverts the DC back to highly stable, pure sine wave AC voltage using pulse width modulation ( PWM ). A backlit green LCD display on the front provides comprehensive configuration controls and diagnostics, controlled by two pushbuttons. There are also the standard LED indicators for basic UPS status. UPSs like this one are typically used for power loads that are highly sensitive to line noise, surges, and voltage fluctuations, such as medical equipment, mission critical computer systems, and equipment in standards\cal labs. This unit was actually used by a cal lab that I know to protect and power a series of Fluke 5700A series MFCs. The cal lab was in the process of upgrading to a larger UPS system, which is how I acquired this one. This UPS operates on a voltage input of 208-240 Vac 50-60Hz single phase, with a maximum input current of 8.7A. The output voltage is also 208-240 Vac 50-60 Hz single phase. The output is a pure sine wave, which can be changed to a 50 Hz output for a 60 Hz input, or vice versa, meaning it also functions as a frequency converter. It also corrects for fluctuations in input line frequency, providing a very stable 50 or 60 Hz output, if the input frequency fluctuates. This is one of the few UPSs that is actually designed to work together trouble free with a generator input, whether it is of the conventional governor regulated type, or the highly sophisticated AVR type. The UPS has a zero transfer time when the AC input fails, and an AC\DC\AC conversion efficiency greater than 86%. The UPS's AC input connection is a standard IEC320 male socket ( standard computer type ), and the AC input plug is either a NEMA 5-20P ( 208-240 Vac 20A ) or a NEMA L6-20P ( 208-240 Vac 20A twist lock ), using a 12 AWG SJT cable. Either plug type will be supplied to the purchaser at no additional charge. The UPS's output connectors are 8 IEC320 female sockets, which use IEC320 male to IEC320 female cords to connect equipment. Two such cords are included, but are not pictured. Please note this UPS only provides a 208-240 Vac output, and no 120 Vac output. However, most medical, computer, and laboratory equipment made for 120 Vac is also made to easily run on a 208-240 Vac input simply by changing the power supply external voltage switch ( such as on the back of desktop PC supplies ), or is designed for automatic switching. Many computer systems also are designed to run on an input of 100-240 Vac 50-60 Hz as well. However, please check your equipment compatibility with 208-240 Vac before purchasing this unit. You can also purchase an external step-down voltage converter to supply loads which require 120 Vac input. The UPS internal batteries are six 12V, 9Ah SLA high rate type, which provide a runtime of about six minutes at full load ( 1400 W ). On lower loads, the runtime will be much longer. Its DC operating voltage is 72V, and it supports up to two Toshiba external battery cabinets ( not included ). Unlike many other UPS brands, this unit recharges its internal batteries to 90% capacity in about four hours, without affecting the battery's life. The UPSs interfaces are USB and RS-232, and an optional network interface card from Toshiba called RemotEye(R) II. Please note that I don't have that interface card unfortunately. This unit has the dimensions 16.7" long, 14.2" high, and 8.9" wide. With the batteries, it weighs about 70 pounds. Therefore, it cannot go through the postal system, and needs to be sent by UPS or FedEx Ground. Due to the size and weight of this UPS, it can only be sent to a Buyer located in Canada or the continental United States. Please note that most businesses can have this item sent to them on their courier account, have a freight pickup ( most major names will service my location ), or arrange for local pickup. A US buyer can have this item sent to a Canadian address or forewarding service if necessary.
