TOUCH PROBE 3/8 SHAFT 2 wire input Made is USA For digitizing software information http://deepgroove1.com/probe/  one wire goes to ground the other goes to your input You connect this to your controller input just like you would a limit or home switch Mach 3 has a wizard for this probe This is the probe  that Art Fenerty used (developer of mach 3) when he was developing the probe wizard. He was very impressed with the probe. http://www.machsupport.com/forum/index.php/topic,1196.0.html video of probe in action http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYJU1kwtzV4 This user developed their own software and usb controller You found a belt buckle from 1902 that you want to reproduce Your friend has an r/c car that you would like to reproduce various parts out of aluminum Your favorite pool cue inlay You found a plastic mold on ebay that you would like to replicate A  probe can perform all these tasks ·         Our probe is 5 way triggered and has a long-wearing .079" (2 mm) diameter, ruby tip. ·         Accuracy equivalent to Renishaw TP1 probe ·          Up to 20,000 points per hour   ·         Roundness less than .001in error ·         Diameter less than .001in error Repeatability deviation less than .001 in ·         Six foot Shielded cable included. ·         It is rated for 10 million samples (switch operations) before carbon build up ·         The biggest problem with almost all ball and rod contact based probes is that after 100,000 samples (that's 100,000 switch operations) the contact resistance would increase because of carbon buildup. So much that the op amp circuit would start to fail to switch its output state. The contacts don't wipe (self-clean) and a buildup of carbon occurs. This would result in having taking the probe apart and clean it.  And as luck would dictate you would be in the middle of a delicate scan How did we solve this problem? We contacted a large University and explained our problem After working together and researching various material interactions We found a combination of materials that: allowed us to make 10 million switch operation before any cleaning is needed
