It is not advisable to place parts to be cleaned directly on the bottom of the tank because they can abrade and damage the vibrating surface as well as the parts themselves. Heavy parts positioned on the tank bottom can suppress the ultrasonic action reducing cleaning effectiveness. Plastic insulation on the basket handles makes it easy to remove the basket from the tank while warm.
