This unit is used in great condition. Included with the test set: - Carrying case - Power Adapter - User Manual - Test Cables Features: The TPI Model 82 DDS Test Unit is used for qualification turn-up testing of 4-wire local loop facilities used in DDS (Digital Data System) and Basic Digital Service offerings. Normally used at the Customer Premise, the Model 82 automatically configures itself to relfect the serving Central Office Channel Unit (OCU). Network generated Loopback capabilites include CSU and DSU Loopbacks and CSU and DSU Latching Loopbacks. Test capabilites include 511 and 2047 PRBS (Pseudo Random Bit Sequence) and QRS (Quasi Random Signal), in addition to the Pattern Senstive (Stress) sequences. Received Byte Pattern LED's and Error Readouts per Channel make the Model 82 an easy-to-use Loop Tester. Battery power makes the Model 82 truly portable. The DDS Test Unit has capability of testing both the Primary and Secondary Channels (where applicable) at data rates of 2.4, 4.8, 9.6, 19.2, 38.4, 56, and 64 Kbps. Highlights: - Provides an effective tool to quickly isolate problems and minimize repair time - Suits the field with its rugged construction, lightweight design and battery-powered operation - Delivers a field portable solution that is easy-to-use at the customer's premises or to turn-up DDS and SW56 service - Supports local loop BER and loopback testing - Reports the following results: bit errors, errored seconds, percentage error free seconds, bit error rate, as well as receive signal state, data rate and line loss Application: 4-wire local loop access: The technician can access the circuit at the NID or DDS termination unit at the customer premises with the Acterna 4WLL Service Tester 82. Once conected to the circuit the technician can verify the presence of a good circuit from the serving central office (CO) to the demarcation point at the customer premises, by using a variety of BER patterns such as 511 and 2047. Loopback to testing: Using network test equipment, the CO test center can issue a CSU or DSU loopback to the Acterna 82. Once the loopback is established, the network test equipment will send and receive BERT patterns. The source of a problem may reside at the customer premises or in the 4-wire local loop. The Acterna 82 can conduct BER testing on the local loop when a hard loop is placed on the OCU DataPort (OCU-DP) card, enabling the technician to test in either direction from the customer premises. Straightaway testing: Straightaway testing is similar to loopback testing. The Acterna 4WLL Service can transmit or transmit and receive a known test pattern toward each other simultaneously. This method helps to isolate problems between the transmit or receive sides of the circuit. End-to-end testing: If problems still exist after running straightaway or loopback testing, it is possible that errors were introduced by another providers' network. Testing through to the far end can determine if the problem is outside the immediate network. By using two Acterna 4WLL Service Tester 82s at either end of the line, end-to-end tests - both straightaway and loopback - can be accomplished. Specifications: LCD: Two-line display with backlight Line interfaces/connectors: 4-wire loop telco interface (8-pin Mod) Indicators: Data Rate LEDs RCV SIGNAL status: - No signal LED - Pri chan LED - Sec chan LED - Byte pattern LEDs byte Power status: - Charging LED - Low battery LED Testing Capabilities: DDS 4-wire local loop testing - Straightaway BER testing - CPE to CPE - Straightaway BER testing - CPE to CO - Simultaneous channel testing - V.54 remote loopback capability and Internal timing - CSU/DSU emulation - Responed to network generated loopbacks (CSU, DSU) latching and non-latching - CSU functionality - DSU emulation - Perform switched 56-call set-up and testing - Perform metallic testing (may not be possible without the option) - Perform load coil testing (may not be possible without the option) - Loopback and BER testing
