The Eico Model #680 Transistor and Circuit Tester provides accurate measurement of basic transistor and diode characteristics required for quality testing, plus the VOM facilities normally required for testing and trouble-shooting transistor circuits. I updated the tester with AA Lithium batteries which are provided and new battery holders.  These will provide longer life, no leakage, and flatter discharge curve to limit re-zeroing of the meter during use.  The original battery holders had rotted due to long term zinc-carbon battery leakage.  A common problem with these older battery powered instruments. The unit is housed in a bakelite case and has a brushed aluminum panel.
