This would make an excellent transmission for robotics, mechanical feed screws,  and hundreds of other devices. Gears may be shifted under power. I'm sure that the inventor in you can think up dozens of potential uses. The transmission consists of open brass gearing, free wheeling shafting, and four electromechanical  solenoid type shift controllers. Powering of a combination of the four 24vdc control wires selects the desired speed. Dimensions; 12-5/8"L x 8-1/2"W x 3-3/4"H, mount can easily be cut to reduce overall length to 9-1/4"L.  About 12 pounds, 14 for shipping.
