They are still under factory warranty until the Spring/Summer of 2018. So, you can buy with absolute confidence. The warranty is based on the serial number of the unit, so no original purchaser receipt or hassle is involved in the unlikely event you need service. These are configured with normal DOCSYS 3.0 1 GHZ RF. But, the free firmware upgrade adds many of the features of the factory new models. The DOCSYS 3.1 1.2 GHZ Modem is an option. The firmware can be downloaded or their technical support, which is really excellent, will provide it for the asking.
