There are several reasons that you may want your SPS base station main board replaced.  Please look at the pictures I have posted.  You can see that when Trimble designed their base station main boards there are several smaller boards hard wired to the main board. If you have had a failure of your blue tooth, the Limo connector that you use to supply 12V external power to your base or if you bent a pin on the 21 pin connector on your base I'm sure your dealer has told you that the only way to resolve the issue is to replace the main board at a cost of more than $3000.00. I have worked servicing CAT and Trimble machine control systems for more than ten years and I can tell you for a fact that you don't need to replace your main board if you have any of these issues.  I searched everywhere for someone that would connect one of these smaller boards to an SPS main board and noone would even touch them.  So I decided I needed to try it for myself.  Guess what my process works.  I have several base stations that I have repaired that have been in service without failure.  The first one I repaired has delivered flawless service for six years now. I can offer you the same service at a fraction of the price that your Trimble dealer wants to replace your entire main board.
